Updated 10/20/2021: Due to an algae bloom in Arvada Reservoir, some water customers may notice an earthy odor and/or taste in their drinking water. This odor and taste is caused by the compound Geosmin. The water is safe to drink and use. City of Arvada Water Treatment team members are working to adjust their treatment process to filter out Geosmin. We anticipate regular odor and taste will be restored soon.
Our primary goal is to consistently provide our residents with safe and dependable drinking water. Sixty employees staffed 24 hours a day 365 days a year make sure that water is properly treated, adequately tested and efficiently distributed to homes and businesses.
