Disposal of Household Hazardous Waste

For the community and small businesses of Arvada, Rooney Road Recycling Center offers hazardous waste disposal.

Many household chemicals pose serious health risks if not properly handled, stored, and disposed of. Certain chemicals pose a threat to sanitation workers (and anyone who comes into contact with them). They  may also threaten ground water and the environment at the landfill. Jefferson County and municipalities in the County contribute to the Center's operations so that residents have a safe place to dispose of household chemicals.

Visit their website at  www.rooneyroadrecycling.org or call 303-316-6262 to set up a drop off appointment.

Please note that the Rooney Road Recycling Center cannot accept:

  • Biological / Medical Wastes (contact your medical provider)
