Disposal of Household Hazardous Waste

In Arvada, Rooney Road Recycling Center offers hazardous waste disposal for residents and small businesses.

Many household chemicals pose serious health risks if not properly handled, stored, and disposed of. Certain chemicals pose a threat to sanitation workers (and anyone who comes into contact with them). They  may also threaten ground water and the environment at the landfill. Jefferson County and municipalities in the County contribute to the Center's operations so that residents have a safe place to dispose of household chemicals for a small $20 copay for up to 75 pounds of waste. Paint recycling is free.
