COVID-19: City-related FAQS

Stay-At-Home Orders issued: As part of the region’s next steps in addressing this public health emergency, the State of Colorado issued Stay-At-Home Public Health Orders. The orders were effective March 26 at 8 a.m. until April 11, unless officials determine otherwise. The Arvada Police are out en force and fully available. Citizen classes have been postponed.​


Municipal Courts

Court Appearances

If you are scheduled for a court appearance, a City representative will call you to reschedule your court date. If they are unable to reach you, you will need to contact them at 720-898-7150 AFTER April 11 to reschedule.

Jury Duty

If you have a summons for City jury duty, a City representative will call you and your jury duty will be rescheduled. If it is a summons for County jury duty, you will need to contact the issuing county.


Parks, Golf, and Hospitality

Parks, Trails, and Open Space

Parks, trails, and open space are open; however, playground equipment is closed.

Arvada Reservoir

Arvada Reservoir: The April 1 opening date has been postponed to April 13 (subject to further delay).
Pre-season boat inspections are canceled until further notice.
Passes are not being sold at City Hall due to facilities closure.

Majestic View Nature Center

Majestic View Nature Center, including the parking lot at 7030 Garrison, is CLOSED; therefore, programs have been canceled. Virtual learning from the Center is available at The Majestic View Park remains open with parking off 72nd and Carr St.

Arvada Events Banquet Services

Our staff is working remotely to manage current event bookings and is available to provide information for future event bookings. Please feel free to contact us at

Dog Parks

Dog parks are open, but park users are asked to exercise personal responsibility in following recommendations related to physical distancing and other infectious disease prevention methods.

Equestrian Facilities

The Indoor equestrian facility is closed until further notice. The outdoor equestrian facility is open.

Golf Courses and Clubhouse/Restaurants

West Woods and Lake Arbor golf clubs, including their clubhouses and restaurants, are closed.

Park Pavilion Rentals

Park pavilion rentals are suspended until further notice. Pavilions and playgrounds are closed.

Skate Parks and Disc Golf

Outdoor skate parks/areas are closed. Disc golf areas are open but participants are expected to practice physical distancing and no more than four people in a group.


City Services

City Business

The facilities closure does not mean City business stops. It simply requires that staff work differently to continue to provide services to the community.

City Facilities Re-Opening

Right now, facilities closures are in effect until April 11, but the City will continually evaluate the situation and end or extend the closure as circumstances change. Some services will remain suspended beyond the facility re-open date. Please visit the respective services webpage for updates.

If you are trying to reach a department or a staff member during the facilities closure period, there may be a delay in response time. City staff are continuing to provide services to the community, but are working under very different circumstances--some in the building, some in the field and some remotely. Please be patient as our response services continue to evolve during this challenging time.

Neighbors Connected Programs

 All neighborhood engagement programs are suspended until further notice. 


Passport services have been suspended until May 8 (or later depending on the virus status).

Building Permits

Online permitting through will be available during this time and we will process permit applications as quickly as possible; however, due to reduced staffing, delays should be expected.

Special Event Permits

We are not issuing special event permits for events to be held prior to May 11. This date is subject to extension if necessary.

Water Bills

Customers who are concerned about paying their water bill should contact the City of Arvada at 720-898-7070 Monday-Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Arvada team is experienced in working with customers to evaluate options.

Sales and Use Tax and Business Licenses

Sales and use tax remittance and business licenses are all being processed online. If you need assistance or have questions, please send an email to or call 720-898-7100.

Arvada Restaurants and Other Establishments

On March 16, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment issued a public health order to close bars, restaurants, gyms, theaters, and casinos. Establishments may continue to offer food and beverage using delivery service, window service, walk-up service, drive-through service, or drive-up service. Check with individual establishments for more info.
