Northey Foundation

2018 Northey Scholarships were awarded to Arvada high school seniors at the May 21 City Council meeting.

Northey Scholarships

The Northey Foundation awards scholarships up to $2,000 to seniors from Arvada high schools or home schooled students. Scholarship awards can be used toward tuition, fees, required books and supplies, room and board, and other qualified educational expenses.

The mission of the W. Michael Northey Foundation is to honor and preserve the memory of Officer Michael Northey by providing financial assistance to officers and their families in times of crisis and by investing in the youth of Arvada by providing scholarships to graduates of Arvada high schools. Officer Mike Northey joined the Arvada Police Department on February 20, 1978. He was tragically struck and killed by a vehicle after he stopped two motorcycle riders on August 11, 1979.

Glasmann Scholarship

Jim Glasmann, or O.G., was an Arvada Police Officer from June 1977 to January 2016. The majority of his career was spent as a School Resource Officer at both North Arvada Middle School and at Pomona High School. Jim passed away unexpectedly in February 2017. This scholarship, which awards up to $2000, was created in his memory. If you would like to donate to this scholarship, please visit the Glasmann Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser page
