Housing Choice Voucher Program
The Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program is program that is federally regulated and funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This program offers rental assistance to very and extra low income families, individuals, the elderly, and the disabled. This helps individuals to afford decent housing in the public market. Which includes single family homes, townhomes, and apartments. Housing assistance is provided in the form of rental subsidies. The HCV rental subsidies cover the difference between the participant’s payment and the unit’s market rent. Participants pay rent based on their income.
