Volunteers are needed for the Severe Weather Shelter Network at the Arvada locations for the 2018-2019 season. There are three Arvada locations at area churches where volunteers are needed. Visit swshelternetwork.com/volunteers for information on volunteer opportunities and for a volunteer application form.

What is a Severe Weather Shelter?

A severe weather shelter is a temporary housing facility operated on the coldest nights of the year to provide shelter for homeless individuals. In the Denver Metro Area there are several severe weather shelters that are hosted by local churches and non-profits.

In Jefferson County, two organizations that provide severe weather sheltering are Mean Street Ministry and the Severe Weather Shelter Network.
