McIntyre Street full closure between W. 55th and S. 58th aves. from 5:30 a.m. Friday, July 19, through 5:30 a.m. Monday, July 22.
McIntyre Street will be closed just north of West 55th Avenue to south of West 58th Avenue until 5:30 a.m. on Monday, July 22. Crews will perform final grading, construct the top layer of asphalt on much of the corridor and move traffic into the final alignment. All through traffic is prohibited except for emergency responders. Access to adjacent parcels will be maintained and a signed detour route will be provided.
Jefferson County and SEMA Construction will construct an additional travel lane in each direction with on-street bike lanes, turn lanes and a center median along with other improvements.
What to Expect
- Improvements to McIntyre Street between West 56th Place and West 58th Avenue began in July 2018 and will continue through the fall of 2019.
- Motorists should expect intermittent traffic stops and alternating lane closures for equipment access and construction adjacent to the roadway.
- Lane closures will be limited to off-peak hours (8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.). Occasional night and weekend work is expected.
- A speed limit reduction to 25 mph will be enforced. Fines are double within the work zone. The project is weather-dependent and the schedule is subject to change.
