Update May 20-- In response to a possible freeze this weekend, our parks team is programming our irrigation systems to allow a cycle of water intermittently between 10 p.m. and 10 a.m. If you see this happening in a neighborhood park, there is no need to call and report it. It is a strategic practice used to minimize freeze damage.
"Hot" Topic--Parks irrigation schedule: Our parks team is ahead of schedule getting our irrigation systems charged up and watering all 90+ Arvada parks. We are about 75 percent complete. Unfortunately, the hot, dry weather conditions are lengthening the time it takes for grounds to soften and grasses to green up. Our normal April and May showers have not materialized to help out! Thanks for your patience, as the team continues to work hard to keep our parks beautiful!

Stewardship: Your Role toward the Goal
Our open space areas are bordered by hundreds of private properties, and it can be tempting for residents to plant things in those areas. It is against City Code to do so. Please do not plant trees, gardens, or place fence supports, refuse or other items in open space areas. Help keep our open space areas beautiful and maintainable.
