Kites in the Park

The Kite Festival, previously scheduled for April 11, was canceled earlier this year due to COVID-19. If you are looking for a park to fly your kites that weekend, please note that Stenger Sports Complex has other activities scheduled and will not be able to accommodate large gatherings. To find parks closer to you, visit arvada.org/parks-and-open-space for an Arvada parks and trails map.

It's National Kite Month! Now's the time to get out and fly kites at any of Arvada’s beautiful parks! Grab your kites, rally the family, and enjoy the sunshine! Share photos of you and your family soaring colorful kites using the hashtag #ArvadaKiteFest to be entered for a chance to win a prize.

How to Participate

  1. Grab a kite of your choice (Majestic View Kite Workshop has been sold out for 2021).
  2. Get outside, fly those kites and snap a few photos! Whether it’s your neighborhood or other Arvada parks, we want to see your colorful kites soar!
  3. Submit photos using the hashtag #ArvadaKiteFest or emailing aburton@arvada.org.
  4. A participant will be randomly selected to receive a prize!

We will be accepting submissions starting Thursday, April 1 through Friday, April 30. All submitted photos will be used in the City's photomontage.

When you are out in the park flying your kites, please remember to practice social distancing and remember to wear your mask, even if you are vaccinated.
