Arvada Box Art Project

Box Art Project Overview

The Arvada Box Art project aims to enhance visual aesthetics in the city and to increase civic pride. The primary goal is to bring art to unexpected places where it can add joy to people’s lives. This project will use original designs by local artists to be painted on-site, as well as designs for vinyl wrap.

This project is a partnership between the Arvada Arts and Culture Commission, Arvada Parks Advisory Committee, and Olde Town Arvada Business Improvement District (BID)

Olde Town Utility Box Art

In the fall of 2019, the City of Arvada’s Arts & Culture Commission (AACC) and the Olde Town Arvada Business Improvement District (BID) requested proposals in an open competition for artists to create artwork on utility boxes throughout Olde Town Arvada. This will be the first phase of the Arvada Box Art Project. The boxes are excellent canvases—often in highly-visible areas—to showcase the historic, cultural, social, and creative values of Arvada.

Box painting was completed June 2020.
