  Stamp Out Hunger – Arvada Community Food Bank
Description:
Leave non-perishable food items in the bag provided by the USPS at your mailbox on Saturday, May 12, to help those in need.

Description:
5K starts at 7:30 am. 1K starts at 8:15am. Everyone will run together beginning from the school lawn! No entry fee.

9:00am [9:00am] Become a Citizen Scientist for Monarchs-Training Day
Description:
Do you love butterflies? Then join our Citizen Science team to help understand the breeding range of monarch butterflies in Colorado. Partake in our all-day training on the Monarch Larva Monitoring Project (www.mlmp.org). You’ll learn about monarch biology, monitoring milkweed for caterpillars, and how you can help save the monarch! The training is free, but a $20 donation is suggested for your own monitoring kit. All ages.

[9:00am] Community Spring Hikes
Description:
Join Arvada community volunteer Mark McGoff for these hikes on Arvada trails. Hikes are about four miles, start at 9 a.m. and end about 11 a.m. Dress for the weather, bring some water, and enjoy the friendship of fellow hikers. Because of group size, these hikes are not suited for dogs.

Description:
Kids will create their own work of art in nature, just in time for Mother’s Day! An instructor leads this outdoor, step-by- step tutorial as kids paint an acrylic-on-canvas masterpiece. No experience is necessary, so everyone can have a fantastic time. Dress for the weather and bring painting clothes! Register in advance. Ages 5-12.
