What is a Comprehensive Plan? And how do I get involved?
The Arvada Comprehensive Plan is the City’s guiding policy document with respect to how the community should develop in the future. It is used by the City in reviewing land use proposals and serves as a guide in public investment decisions over a 5 - 7 year period.
The Comprehensive Plan is updated every few years to take into account changing economic and demographic conditions and issues facing the City in the future. The first plan was adopted in 1964 and since that time, the plan has been amended five times
We want your input as we update the community’s vision, goals and policies for such things as land use, transportation, economic development, parks and open space, neighborhoods, housing, culture, public safety and natural resource conservation.
The planning process for the Comprehensive Plan is expected to take approximately one year. Please attend one of our upcoming community events or weigh-in on our question of the week at ArvadaListens.com.
