In 2020, the City applied for and was awarded a Transportation Alternative Program (TAP) Grant through the Colorado Department of Transportation. This grant provides 80% funding for the project and the City will provide 20% of the funding. The Alkire Street Trail project will construct an 8’ detached trail on the west side of Alkire Street from W 78th Avenue to W 80th Avenue. The City has a separate project that will build a trail from W 78th Avenue to 600’ south where the current Alkire Street trail ends.
The City hired Rocksol Consulting Group for the design phase of this project. Below you can find a general map of the project. As plans are developed, they will be posted here and information about future public outreach will be provided.
