The Adopt-A-Trail program utilizes volunteers to assist the Parks Department in keeping Arvada's trail system beautiful and pollution free. With over 150+ miles in Arvada's trail network, the City relies on the help of volunteers to protect our trails. Anyone is eligible to adopt a trail for any given year. The City of Arvada and our community thanks you for your consideration of adopting of a trail!

How Does Adopt-a-Trail Work?

  • Through the Adopt-A-Trail program, short sections of trail are adopted by individuals, companies, schools and other groups.

  • The adopting party enters into an agreement with the City of Arvada, stating that they will be responsible for picking up litter along a specified portion of trail for a period of one year.

  • We request that trail adopters participate in a litter clean up on their section of trail once per month.

  • The Parks Department provides trash bags and posts signs along the adopted trail, giving recognition to individuals or group volunteers.
