The City of Arvada has announced the appointment of Gabriella Bommer as Director of Human Resources. Bommer, who previously served as the City’s deputy human resources director, will succeed Linda Haley who was recently appointed as a second deputy city manager.
“With her breadth of human resources knowledge and profound dedication to the City team and community, Gabriella has every quality needed for this vital role,” said City Manager Mark Deven. “We look forward to her visionary leadership as we continue to build and maintain an exceptional team to meet the opportunities and challenges to come.”
Bommer has 28 years of human resources experience in both public and private sector environments, with 15 years serving in leadership roles. She joined the Arvada team in 2009 and was promoted to deputy director of human resources in 2017. Bommer served as acting director from March 2020 to September 2021 while Ms. Haley directed the City’s pandemic recovery efforts.

Bommer holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and multiple professional certifications in human resources. She lives in Westminster with her husband, Kevin, and daughter, Christy.
