Planning Commission

About the Commission

The Planning Commission serves as an advisory body to the City Council. The commission reviews annexations, rezonings, subdivisions, planned unit developments, and formulates a long-range comprehensive plan. The Planning Commission normally meets the first and third Tuesdays of each month. Public hearings are held at 6:15 p.m. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 8101 Ralston Road. Appointees are paid $100.00 per meeting. Terms are for four years. You must be a resident of the City of Arvada to apply.

Public Comment

Members of the public are welcome to make public comment during meetings. However, public comment is only allowed during scheduled times on the agenda or during a public hearing. There are multiple ways to make comments on a specific public hearing or make a general comment to the Commission.

In Writing: Public comments can be emailed to cedboardsandcommission@arvada.org, the email must include the meeting date and the item that you are making comments on. Comments can also be sent via mail to Planning Commission 8101 Ralston Rd, Arvada CO 80001. All items that are submitted prior to the deadline will be forwarded to the Planning commission to review.

Provide in-person comments: Comments can be made in person at the meeting in Arvada City Hall’s Council Chambers - 8101 Ralston Rd. Participants may be time limited.

Meeting Dates

Planning Commission meetings are held every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month starting at 6:15 p.m. If the 1st of the month falls on a Tuesday than the Commission will meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of that month. Please view the meeting calendar for update information.
