All commercial structures are required to be tested for radio amplification as per the City of Arvada adopted International Fire Code Section 510. An approved installer will be required to test your location to verify radio frequency before your Certificate of Occupancy can be issued. If an amplification system (BDA) is required, a permit will be required to install the system.

Who Can Do the Work?
Radio Amplification permits will be issued to a Licensed Radio Amplification professional. Please review contractor qualifications and download applications before applying for permits
Review Timelines
A review will be completed by the Radio Systems Administrator for the City of Arvada. The review could take up to 15 days to be completed. Once the review is completed you will be notified via e-mail to complete the payment and print your permit.

Required Submittal Documents
Permit applications must be submitted with the correct documentation. Applications that are submitted without the proper documentation will not be accepted. As BDA systems are installed in the City of Arvada, and are meant to amplify the current LMR system, these sets of minimum parameters must be met to gain approval from the Radio System Administrator for approval.

Before Occupancy
Proof of Coverage as defined in Section 510 of the adopted International Fire Code must be uploaded and attached to the permit via arvadapermits.org before occupancy of the building can occur.
After Installation
All radio amplification installations will be inspected annually as part of a regular fire inspection to verify that annual maintenance has been performed by an approved service provider and system operation has been maintained as designed. Owners of the buildings must have annual inspections on systems completed and available for review during the inspection. These records must be kept on file and available when requested.
