Arvada Parks and Peck Elementary Celebrate Arbor Day

The City of Arvada Parks Division has been awarded the Gold Leaf Award for their Arbor Day activities with Peck Elementary School. Read more.

The 32nd Annual Arbor Day tree planting celebration with Peck Elementary students and the City of Arvada Parks Department was held on Wednesday, May 16 at Club Crest North Park. Students planted 16 trees. In attendance were Mayor Marc Williams, Councilmember Nancy Ford, and of course, City Forester Craig Hillegass.

Over the years, approximately 1,700 Peck students have participated with Parks staff in the Arbor Day tree planting and have planted 470 trees in parks all across Arvada.

2018 marked the 27th year that Arvada has earned the distinction of being named as a Tree City USA by the National Arbor Foundation.
