Board of Adjustment

About the Board

The Board of Adjustment is a seven-member board that hears all appeals of the zoning ordinance and requests for variance to the Land Development Code. Generally, they meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:15 p.m. Appointees are paid $75.00 per meeting. Terms are for three years. You must be a resident of the City of Arvada to apply for a position on the board.

There are currently no vacancies on the Board of Adjustment. 

Public Comment

Members of the public are welcome to make public comment. However, public comment is only allowed during scheduled times on the agenda or during a public hearing. There are multiple ways to make comments on a specific public hearing or make a general comment to the Commission. Public comments can be emailed to, the email must include the meeting date and the item that you are making comments on. Comments can also be sent via mail to the Board of Adjustment to 8101 Ralston Rd, Arvada CO 80001. Members that wish to speak during the meeting may do so during the regularly scheduled public comment. All comments must be received by 5:00 p.m. the day before the meeting.

Meeting Dates

Board of Adjustment meetings are held every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month starting at 6:15 p.m. If the 1st of the month falls on a Tuesday than the Board will meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of that month. Regular meetings require at least one public hearing or administrative review on the agenda.Please view the meeting calendar for update information.
