What is an acceptable form of identification I can use to vote?
See the list of acceptable forms of ID.
If I didn’t vote in the last election, am I still registered to vote?

Sixteen year olds can register to vote; however, are not eligible to vote until they are 18 years of age.

Ballots and Voting
When will I receive a ballot?
Ballots will be mailed out by Jefferson and Adams County to eligible voters beginning the week of October 14, 2019.
When must the voted ballot be returned?
Mail ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day, November 5, 2019. Ballots received after 7 p.m. Election Day will not be counted. Postmark dates do NOT count.
Where can I drop off my ballot after I've voted?
Why didn’t I receive a ballot and can I still vote?
There are several reasons you may not have received a ballot.
- In Jefferson County, please call 303-271-8111 for assistance.
- In Adams County, please call 720-523-6020 for assistance.
Can I get a replacement ballot if I misplaced my ballot, voted the wrong way, tore my ballot, or otherwise “spoiled” my ballot?
Contact the Election office in the county where you live to find out how to obtain a replacement ballot.
How do I know my ballot has been received if I mail it in or drop it off?
With the State of Colorado Find My Voter Registration tool you can easily check the status of your ballot.
Can someone find out whether I’ve returned my ballot?
Yes. That information is public record. Many parties and candidates use this information for their “Get Out The Vote” campaigns.
Can someone find out how I’ve voted?
No, the procedures for processing mail ballots ensure that the secrecy is maintained for each voter’s ballot. The secrecy sleeves containing the ballots are removed and separated from the outer envelope so that a ballot cannot be tied back to an individual voter.
When will the ballots be counted and results made public?
Counting of mail ballots may begin ten days prior to the election and continue until counting is completed. Preliminary unofficial results will be released after 7 p.m. on Election Day. Updates will be released throughout the night by the County Clerk as votes are counted.
Why do I have to sign the back of the ballot envelope?
Your signature on the back of the ballot envelope will be compared to your signature on file in the County Clerk & Recorder’s office. If the signatures do not match, a letter will be sent to the address in your file along with a form that will allow you to confirm that you voted the ballot. Discrepancies in signatures that cannot be confirmed will be turned over to the District Attorney’s Office for investigation. No one else may sign your ballot envelope for you. This includes family members or people who have a “Power of Attorney” to sign documents on your behalf. If you are unable to sign you must make your mark and have a witness sign that he or she observed the mark.
Are there any polling places for this election?
There are no polling places, but there are “Voter Service & Polling Centers” set up to assist voters. A voter can still “vote in person” at a Service & Polling Center up until 7 p.m. on Election Day. This election is a “mail ballot” election only, meaning that all registered voters will receive a mail ballot.
Do I need to put a stamp on my envelope?
Ballots mailed by USPS mail need to have the appropriate postage on the envelope.
Why do I still receive calls from candidates and political campaigns if I am registered on the "Do not call" list?
There are exemptions to telephone solicitation, and political calls are one of them as defined in the Colorado Revised Statutes (C.R.S.) Section 6-1-903. Unfortunately, there is no complaint or removal process established for these types of calls and mailings. You can contact your county clerk and request that your phone number be removed from your voter registration information, but this provides no guarantee that your phone number will not be obtained from other sources.
