Planning And Development Ask Arvada

Historic District

The City of Arvada has four historic districts listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Design guidelines have been adopted regulating development for one district, Arvada Downtown Historic District, and its surrounding conservation area.  All land use activities within the district and conservation area, except ordinary maintenance and repair as defined in the Land Development code, require a Certificate of Compliance prior to commencing work.

A citizens committee is appointed by City Council to review applications and make a recommendation to the Community Development Director who makes the final determination on approval.
