The City has 2 disc golf courses. The first, Johnny Roberts Memorial Disc Golf Course, is considered the oldest continuously used public disc course in Colorado and is named after Johnny Roberts, a disc golf pioneer who helped establish the course. This 18-hole disc golf course is located at Memorial Park (8001 W. 59th Avenue) in Arvada. To get to the course from I-70 and Wadsworth go north on Wadsworth to Ralston Road (58th) and then go west to Allison Street. Turn north and this will dead end into the park, behind Arvada City Hall. Disc Golf with baskets are located throughout the 16.27 acre park. The course was recently redesigned as a technical short approach and putting course. The course meanders through trees and has multiple creek crossings and dog legs. Baskets range from 150' to 300' with concrete tees. The second disc golf course is Bird's Nest Disc Golf Course, a 27-hole, disc-golf-only park located in west Arvada, east of the Arvada Blunn Reservoir adjacent to the Arvada Dog Park. Bird's Nest Disc Golf Course is located at 17925 West 64th Parkway. Built on 40 acres of City of Arvada land, the course features rolling pastures, tree-lined holes and some elevation change. Well established trails and spacious design make it a challenge for players of all ages and skill levels. Holes range from 170 to over 700 feet in length.
