The City of Arvada is a home rule city that collects its own Sales and Use Tax. The City Sales Tax rate is 3.46%. If you are making retail sales in Arvada you must collect and remit Arvada sales tax. To obtain an application for an Arvada Business License please visit http://arvada.org/business/business-licensing-resources/new-business-license. If you want to apply for a license in person, the Revenue office is located at 8001 Ralston Road in the City Hall Annex.
Arvada Sales Tax is due on the 20th of the month following the period in which the tax is collected. The City allows a 3% vendor's discount for accounts that submit a return and related payment on time, with a maximum discount of $100.
Tax returns must be filed and paid online. Taxpayers can register for access at http://arvada.org/taxonline. E-check payments are accepted from $1 up to $50,000 and are free; credit card payments are assessed a 2.39% fee, which is payable to the payment processing company. If the business has a debit block on the bank account, please set up company ID 0000000160 BEFORE submitting a payment or it will fail.
