Inspections are required after obtaining the required permits for building, electrical, plumbing and mechanical work. Permits are required for all sorts of work, including roofing, solar, siding, windows, furnace, air conditioning and water heater to mention a few. If you embark on a project and are not sure of permit requirements, call 720-898-7620. There are four major types of inspections required in new construction: foundation inspections, framing inspections, rough inspections (electrical, plumbing, heating) and final inspections. Many inspections of roofs, solar, furnace, A/C, hot tub and windows only required only a final inspection. Most standard types of roofing require only a final inspection, although special roofs also require a mid-roof inspection. Inspections may be obtained by calling the Building Inspection request line at 720-898-7630. If inspection requests are received before 7:00am, the inspection will be made the same day. Any inspection requests received after 7:00am will be completed the following working day. When you have a permit, you may use our on-line inspection system by visiting www.arvadapermits.org. When requesting inspections, the name and phone number of the person requesting the inspection, the type of inspection, the permit number, and the proper address must be furnished to guarantee an inspection. For more information call 720-898-7620.
