Arvada Parks, Trails and Open Space Maintenance performs routine maintenance for city owned parks, trails, sports facilities, landscaped medians, city facilities, and Apex Park and Recreation District owned parks.
Maintains over 220 sites and 3,500 acres.
Program Descriptions
Park, Trail and Open Space Maintenance
Duties include maintenance of playground equipment, bridges, landscaping, turf grass and native grass, trees, planter beds, irrigation systems, herbicide and pesticide applications, snow removal of 240 routes, and general park clean-up. Parks maintains 57 playgrounds, 77 tennis courts/play courts, 2 volleyball courts, 32 soccer/football/lacrosse fields, 2 bocce ball courts, and 9 sports complex facilities. Parks programs involving the community are Adopt-a-Trail, Arbor Day, Plant A Tree, July 4th fireworks display, Christmas tree recycling, lake recreation, and special event support. Park and Recreation Facility Maintenance
