Nancy Ford is Arvada City Councilmember for District 1, elected in 2015 and re-elected in 2017. She currently serves as a Council liaison to the Arvada Sustainability Advisory Committee (ASAC), Arvada Visitors Center Committee, Rocky Flats Stewardship Council, and is a Board member for the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities.
Nancy strives for transparent government, fairness in decision-making and wise resource stewardship. She encourages all citizens to become involved and have pride in their neighborhood and community. Also important to Nancy is business growth, a thriving arts community and the preservation of Arvada’s history.
Nancy is a professional marketing researcher and teacher with a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Wyoming. She creates fiber art, several pieces having won awards, and claims gardening as her number one passion. Nancy and her husband, Jim, a water resources engineer, have lived in Arvada since 2008 and share their home with their toy poodle, Teddy.
