Mark McGoff was elected to the Arvada City Council in 2007, 2011, and 2015. As the representative of District 2, he is particularly interested in the preservation of our historic neighborhoods, the continued vitality of Olde Town, and the completion of the Gold Line in 2016. He is currently the Council representative to RTD Local Governments Team, Adams County Economic Development Association, Arvada Municipal Court/Judicial Committee, Rocky Flats Stewardship Council, and Jefferson County Community Corrections Board. Prior to his council service, Mark served his community as a board member of Ralston House, Arvada Historical Society, Jefferson County Historical Commission, Jefferson County Cultural Commission, Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities, Colorado Endowment for the Humanities, and the Governor’s Council for Physical Fitness. He has a strong interest in Arvada’s parks and trails system, and he loves to introduce residents to various areas of the city by conducting community hikes throughout the year.
Mark was honored as Arvada’s Man of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce in 2006 and subsequently served for five years as chair of the selection committee for Man and Woman of the Year. He was also on the selection committee for Arvada Profiles: Stories of the People Who Most Influenced Our First 100 Years.
Mark has undergraduate degrees in English and Philosophy and a graduate degree in Adult Education. He has completed additional coursework in public administration, land and water use, and legal issues.
