Advance Arvada Projects
The City team is currently working on the Land Development Code, Sub-Area Planning and Olde Town Arvada Improvements. Future projects include updating the Comprehensive Plan and the development of Pocket Neighborhoods.
Ralston Road Corridor Study
The Arvada Urban Renewal Authority (AURA) in partnership with the City is conducting a study of the Ralston Road Corridor (Wadsworth Blvd. to Garrison Street) to better understand land use constraints and to improve the barriers to development and pedestrian circulation. AURA will be hosting an open house for the public to learn more about the study and to provide their thoughts on Wednesday, May 24 from 4 to 6 p.m. The event will take place at their offices located at 5603 Yukon Street. The study is being funded by the Denver Regional Council of Governments. For further information, visit the AURA website.
Land Development Code
Beginning in 2018, the City team began a years-long process of updating the Land Development Code. The Land Development Code (LDC) provides the City's regulations for the development and use of property within the city. The code provides information on zoning, subdivisions, building permits, flood plain information and other related land use activities. For more information on the LDC, visit the Land Development Code Page.
Sub-Area Planning
As part of the updated Land Development Code, the City of Arvada has begun the development of specific area plans for many of the corridors and areas zoned for mixed-use development. This is called Sub-Area Planning. For more information on the current Sub-Area Plans, visit Sub-Area Planning.
Olde Town Arvada Improvements
As part of the next phase of the five-year Olde Town Arvada semi-permanent street closure plan, the City team is collecting and reviewing data related to business activity, parking demand, and transportation. For more information on the Olde Town Improvements and the results of the data collection and review, visit Olde Town Arvada.
Comprehensive Plan
Last updated in 2014, the Comprehensive Plan articulates the community's shared values and vision. Goals and policies help guide development and investment decisions that have a direct bearing on the quality of life in Arvada. Discussions are currently underway for updating the Comprehensive Plan in late 2024. For more information about the Comprehensive Plan, visit Comprehensive Plan.
