(Arvada) – The Arvada Police Department arrested Zechariah Randolph (DOB 6/17/85) on Tuesday evening after viewers saw him on a newscast and called into the Arvada Police Department. He was identified after Facebook visitors to the Arvada and Golden Facebook pages recognized him from surveillance video.
Randolph is the suspect in two recent recreation center burglaries and motor vehicle thefts.
On November 4 at approximately 9 p.m., the Arvada Police were dispatched to the APEX Center on a call of a Motor Vehicle Theft. The victim allegedly had his wallet and car keys stolen from his locked locker by Randolph, who then allegedly stole the victim’s 2011 blue Toyota Prius.
The Golden Police had a similar theft at the Golden Recreation Center on November 3 when the suspect was caught on video entering the Golden Community Center. The suspect entered the men’s locker room, where he allegedly stole a wallet with credit cards, miscellaneous items and car keys to a 2014 black Volkswagen Jetta which was subsequently stolen.
“We could not be more grateful to our law abiding community whose partnership helped us to quickly identify and arrest our suspect,” said Detective Johnson of the Arvada Police Department.
Randolph was arrested on charges of motor vehicle theft and burglary.
