Wind Wreaks Havoc on Arvada Trees

On April 17, 2018 a wild wind storm took its toll on trees throughout the Denver area including many in Arvada. Arvada residents sent us photos of trees in their neighborhoods that were literally toppled by the winds, which, according to the National Weather Service, gusted to more than 80 MPH!

However, as you can see by the last photo in our montage, the Pear trees in Old Town were undisturbed and blooming beautifully that same week!

Residents with tree limbs needing disposal can take them to any of the Jefferson County slash events held throughout the metro area at a cost of $20 per truckload. The next Jeffco event in Arvada will be held June 23 & 24. For a complete event schedule, visit
