Tonight's Vigil to Be Streamed Online and Will Air on Channel 8

The City of Arvada thanks the community for the outpouring of support for the Arvada Police and other City team members following the tragic event in Olde Town Arvada yesterday afternoon that claimed the life of veteran Arvada Police Officer Gordon Beesley.

The community is invited to participate in a vigil, hosted by the local Faith Community, that will be held at Peace Lutheran Church (5675 Field St.) at 7 p.m. Space at the church is limited, and in response to community interest, the City will livestream the event at https://arvada.org/live-stream and will air it on the City’s Channel 8, available locally on Comcast/TDS Channels 8/HD880.

In addition to the vigil, a temporary memorial has been placed at the entrance to City Hall. This location is highly visible to the City’s public safety team and is the most meaningful place for people to pay respects and place memorials in support of Officer Beesley, his family and our Police Department.

The Arvada Police Department will provide updated information as it becomes available on Arvada.org and on their Twitter account, @ArvadaPolice. Public safety media inquiries should be directed to the Arvada Police Department Public Information Officer: Detective David Snelling, 720-898-6654 or dave-s@arvada.org.
