The City of Arvada’s Arts and Culture Commission (AACC) is seeking qualifications from visual artists currently living in Colorado to design and paint a mural on a City-owned site. The site is near Arvada’s City Hall. It leads up to Arvada's central post office off Ralston Road, and is on a pathway to access Arvada’s parks and trails systems.
The AACC will review and select up to five finalists based on their resumes and previous work examples. These finalists will be asked to complete a full proposal for their concept for the mural site. Finalists who are not awarded the commission will be given an honorarium of $250 for their completion of the full proposals for the mural site. The artist/s selected for the commission will be awarded a contract for $27,000 from the City of Arvada to complete the mural project.
The deadline for the Call for Entry is Sunday, July 31, 2022. This call is administered through Call for Entry and artists must set up a profile in the online system to complete the application successfully. Eligible artists may submit their artist statement, resume/CV, and three to five examples of relevant projects through CallforEntry.org. Applicants must be 18 years or older and hold a current Colorado home or studio address to be eligible to apply.
For more information or to apply, view the Arvada Post Office Mural Call for Entry.
The AACC's mission is to support, cultivate, and advocate for a variety of arts, culture, and heritage opportunities throughout our community, and its vision is: Arvada, Where Arts and Culture Live.
