Police Catch Burglary Suspect in the Act (06-29-09)

A 25-year-old Denver man was arrested after allegedly committing a burglary in Arvada just before midnight on June 29, 2009.

An Arvada Police Officer responded to the Smoker Friendly business (9588 W. 58th Avenue) on an alarm call. When the officer arrived, he found the glass front door broken at the Smoker Friendly business.

While investigating that scene, the officer heard glass breaking at a nearby business. The officer spotted Titus James Emilyon (DOB 03-06-1984) crawling out of the broken front glass door of the Gigantic Cleaners at 9601 W. 57th Place.

Emilyon then ran a few feet to the Arvada Villa restaurant at 9609 W. 57th Place, where he broke a window to enter the breezeway of that restaurant.

The officer was able to bring the suspect into custody as Emilyon attempted to run from the scene.

Emilyon was allegedly in possession of a carton of cigarettes when he was arrested.

Emilyon was taken to the Jefferson County Jail and faces multiple counts of second degree burglary.
