Oct 12, 2010:   Arvada's Channel 8 Ranks 3rd In Nation For Overall Excellence In Government Programming

Arvada, CO . . . . KATV Channel 8, Arvada’s local government access channel, took home a suitcase full of trophies from the 24th Annual Excellence in Government Programming Awards sponsored by the National Association of Telecommunication Officers and Advisors (NATOA).   

Most significantly, the channel placed third in the nation in the prestigious Overall Excellence in Government Programming Category.

Other awards received by KATV at the NATOA Awards Banquet held September 24 in Washington, D.C. were in the following categories:  First Place in Magazine Format Series for A-Files, First Place in Public Safety for Lost Pet, First Place in Profile of a City/County Department for A-Files:  Arvada Center Set Department, Second Place in Arts and Entertainment for A-Files:  Evita, Third Place in Children/Young Adults for Artscentric:  Schoolhouse Rock LIVE!, Third Place in Profile of a City/County Department for K9 Unit, Honorable Mention in Community Awareness for A-Files:  Habitat for Humanity, Honorable Mention in Promotion of a City/County for Jefferson County Insights, and Honorable Mention in Seniors for both Happy Hikers and A-Files:  Wii Bowling Tournament.
