(Arvada, CO) – At their August 29 meeting, the Arvada City Council voted 7 – 0 to place two questions on the November 8, 2016 ballot.
The first ballot question proposes a 1/2 cent sales and use tax increase, to be dedicated to street maintenance and improvement projects. The increase would amount to five cents on a ten dollar purchase, and if approved by voters, will increase funding towards street maintenance and improvement projects by as much as $10 million per year on top of the current budget of $6 million per year.
The second ballot question proposes opting out of a State law (Senate Bill 152) which would increase options for providing high-speed internet services.
The final resolutions, including exact ballot language, are available under Resources.
