The City of Arvada Purchasing Team has received the 2018 Procurement Team of the Year Award from Rocky Mountain Governmental Purchasing Association (RMGPA)--Chapter of the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing. RMGPA strives to maintain professionalism in public purchasing by raising the standards and ethics of governmental purchasing; promoting fair and open competition by using applicable uniform codes, laws and procedures; establishing academic and professional standards by which all members are awarded certificates and other distinctions; and providing the most value for the tax dollar.
The Team received the award in recognition of its implementation of a "High Service Model" purchasing program; improvements to the electronic solicitation and routing processes; SMART Goal Management Performance Measures; for updating the City’s Purchasing Ordinance, and for collaborating with intergovernmental agencies partners such as the Apex PRD and Foothills Animal Shelter to enable them to obtain better pricing options.
Purchasing Manager Nancy Allen said of the award: “The collaboration we enjoy throughout the City has enabled us to save money and time, while delivering superior services to enhance the lives of everyone in our community.”
Established 30 years ago, the RMGPA is a diverse, non-profit organization whose membership includes purchasing officers, agents, buyers, managers and others associated with more than 100 public purchasing agencies throughout Colorado and Wyoming.
