(Arvada, CO) – The City of Arvada has been awarded a 2018 Top Workplaces honor by The Denver Post. It is the only local government organization awarded in the ‘large company’ category.
Arvada was also named a Denver Post Top Workplace in 2012 and 2015.
The list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by research partner Energage, LLC (formerly WorkplaceDynamics), a leading provider of technology-based employee engagement tools. The anonymous survey measures several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.
“Top Workplaces is more than just recognition,” said Energage CEO Doug Claffey. “Our research shows organizations that earn the award attract better talent, experience lower turnover, and are better equipped to deliver bottom-line results. Their leaders prioritize and carefully craft a healthy workplace culture that supports employee engagement.”
“Achieving this distinction a third time holds a great deal of significance for our organization,” said Arvada City Manager Mark Deven. “Our employees have experienced a great deal of change over the last several years and it is gratifying to know that, as a whole, our employees embrace the direction in which we are moving.”
“Becoming a Top Workplace isn’t something organizations can buy,” Claffey said. “It’s an achievement organizations have worked for and a distinction that gives them a competitive advantage. It’s a big deal.”
Eighty percent of Arvada’s employees completed this year’s survey. Deven states that the data from 2018 will serve as a critical tool in making continued improvements related to the performance of the organization.
“Measuring results is imperative in delivering the most effective service possible,” said Deven. “Just as in 2012 and 2015, the survey will be used to improve how we manage our teams, foster an environment where we encourage and support new ideas throughout the organization, and recognize the value of Arvada’s exceptional employees.”
