The City of Arvada continues to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic by supporting efforts to share information about the vaccination process. Currently, the City encourages members of the community who are 65 years old and older to register to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. Those with loved ones, friends or neighbors fitting this category are similarly encouraged to raise awareness among this group and provide assistance as needed.
Although the supply of vaccines is currently limited, state and local public health agencies are encouraging residents to make an appointment for the vaccine now. The Colorado Department of Public Health and the Environment offers a webpage with the most up-to-date information on where people can get vaccinated, as well as as a telephone hotline (1-877-268-2926) with operators who are able to answer questions and connect people to resources.
The City has also recently updated its COVID-19 online resources, including:
A clearinghouse of state and local vaccination resources at https://arvada.org/covid-vaccine-info.
The latest breakdown of how the City is allocating funding from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act is available at https://arvada.org/cares-act-transparency.
Opportunities to share how our community is coping with the pandemic is available at https://speakup.arvada.org/we-can-do-this.
The City remains engaged in responding to ongoing pandemic, encouraging people to be vaccinated, participating in local and regional partnerships in support of recovery, sharing timely information with the public and the internal City team. Public health agencies have indicated that it will take some time for everyone to be vaccinated, and the City urges residents to continue wearing masks and following other health guidelines throughout the process.Residents and visitors to Arvada are urged to take personal responsibility for helping protect themselves, their families and the community. Practice the three Ws: wear a mask, watch your distance and wash your hands.
