Man's Body Found in Clear Creek in Arvada Identified

A citizen called the Arvada Police Department about a body in Clear Creek. The body was found in the area of I-70 and Wadsworth Blvd., just after 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2009.

Arvada police responded to Johnson Park, just south of I-70 on Wadsworth Blvd., where they contacted the witness who found the body.

The victim is described as an adult male. It is unclear how long he'd been in the water; however, police have ruled out the incident being related to the storm from Monday night.

Police are working to identify the individual found in Clear Creek. Detectives are conducting a death investigation of the unidentified man.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office has identified the body found in Clear Creek near I/70 and Wadsworth Blvd on July 23, 2009.


The deceased is Raymond Apt (DOB: 05/28/56) of Lakeside.

Apt was found in Clear Creek in Johnson Park, just south of I-70 and Wadsworth.

The investigation is on-going. The incident is still classified as a death investigation.
