Arvada Police Investigate Man’s Death at Railroad Tracks

Arvada police have released the name of a Denver man killed when he was struck by a train traveling through Arvada just before 10:00 a.m. near 76th and Simms Street on Sunday, November 6, 2011.

Police believe William P. Krause (DOB: 4/20/51) was walking southbound on Simms street, and then began paralleling the railroad tracks heading in an eastbound direction. A witness in the area says the man apparently turned into the moving train.

The investigation shows that the lead engine of the westbound Union Pacific train had already passed prior to the man approaching the tracks.
