Arvada Launches Emergency Preparedness Initiative

Arvada, CO – The City of Arvada is rolling out an emergency preparedness program for the community. Citizens of Arvada Preparing for Emergencies (C.A.P.E.) is designed to build bridges throughout the community that can be called upon in an emergency situation.

The Mayor of Arvada, Marc Williams, will kick off the program with a breakfast on Monday, June 10, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Arvada Center with faith-based leaders from throughout the City.

“Members of our faith-based community in Arvada have already expressed a desire to be more involved with their community through programs such as The Art of Neighboring  (,” said Mayor Williams. “This program calls upon their continued wish to give back to the community that fits a very real need.”

Participants will learn what they need to do to better prepare their members for disasters, as well as how to establish strong relationships with Arvada Emergency Management leaders—before a disaster strikes.

Welcoming Speakers include Arvada Mayor Marc Williams, Arvada City Manager Mark Deven, Arvada Police Chief Don Wick and Arvada Fire Protection District Chief Jon Greer.
