April, 2015...The City of Arvada is pleased to announce that it has been selected as a Denver Post Top Work Place for 2015—the only municipal government recognized.
Arvada was also named a Denver Post Top Work Place in 2012.
Arvada ranked 19th among large employers based on categories including confidence in leadership, direction provided to employees, appreciation of workers, values and ethics, encouragement of ideas, competence of management, and pay and benefits.
The Top Workplaces are determined based solely on employee feedback. The employee survey is conducted by WorkplaceDynamics, LLP, a leading research firm on organizational health and employee engagement. More than 43,000 employees from 219 Colorado companies completed the survey.
“It was wonderful to be recognized in 2012 as a Top Workplace, but achieving this distinction a second time holds even more significance for our organization,” said City Manager Mark Deven. “Our employees have experienced a great deal of change over the last several years and it is gratifying to know that, as a whole, our employees embrace the direction in which we are moving.”
Eighty-nine percent of Arvada’s employees completed this year’s survey. Deven states that the data from 2015 will serve as a critical tool in making continued improvements related to the performance of the organization.
“Measuring results is imperative in delivering the most effective service possible,” said Deven. “Just as in 2012, the survey will be used to improve how we manage our teams; foster an environment where we encourage and support new ideas throughout the organization, and recognize the value of Arvada’s exceptional employees.”
