Arvada, CO – On October 3, Arvada Deputy City Clerk Bruce Roome was sworn in as the President of the Colorado Municipal Clerk's Association (CMCA) at their Fall Conference.
Roome has many years of experience in local government and served as Deputy City Clerk in Wheat Ridge before coming to Arvada in February of 2016. In 2016 Bruce was elected vice president of CMCA and now takes the reigns as president for the next year.
The purpose of the Colorado Municipal Clerks Association is to educate Municipal Clerks by offering professional development opportunities; promote a better understanding of the functions and responsibilities of the Municipal Clerk’s office; assemble and disseminate information to improve the procedures and professionalism of Municipal Clerks; promote cooperation among Municipal Clerks through the exchange of ideas, information and experiences; sponsor, support or oppose legislation of importance to Municipal Clerks; and advance the Municipal Clerk profession by collaborating with affiliated organizations whenever appropriate or necessary.
