Adopt-A-Street
The Adopt-A-Street Program is when volunteers collect litter from our community streets, parks, green belts, and waterways, individuals or groups can volunteer to pickup litter on streets in Arvada all year round! Parks, green belts, or creeks are adopted through the Parks Department as part of their Adopt-a-Trail program. Contact Craig Hillegass, 720-898-7422.
It is easy to participate in the Adopt-A-Street effort for the City of Arvada.
Volunteers enter into a written agreement with the City stating that they will be responsible for cleaning up litter on a segment of a particular street four times per year.
The sites are selected from a priority list, and the volunteers agree to clean the adopted street or site a minimum of four times per year. If you know of a street that needs cleaned but it is not on our list, suggest it and we can make it a route.
The City will provide trash bags and safety vests, and will collect the filled bags when the volunteers have completed the litter pickup.
Permanent signs will be posted on the adopted streets to recognize the efforts of volunteers. Civic groups, churches, businesses, or individuals can adopt streets.
The program is designed to help keep Arvada clean and attractive for its citizens. Thank you for considering the adoption of a street! For more information, please contact Kathy Mullen, 720-898-7760.
