Registering as a Sex Offender

A sex offender must register at the local police department if residing within a city or town and at the county sheriff's department if you living outside the limits of a city or town. If multiple residences are maintained, registration is required with the law enforcement agencies of each jurisdiction of residence.

Appointment Required

  • Call 720-898-6578 to make an appointment.  Clearly state your name, date of birth, and phone number.  If it is your first registration with Arvada, state if you are required to register quarterly or annually, or if you are classified as a sexually violent predator.
  • Appointments are available Tuesday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For initial registration, allow for approximately one hour.

What to Bring

  • Proof of residence (such as utility bill, water bill or lease agreement)
  • Photo ID (driver's license or state issued identification card)
  • Payment for registration (cash, personal check, or money order)

Registration Fees

  • Initial registration is $60 unless you are classified as a Sexually Violent Predator (SVP) which is $75.
  • Annual registration is $25, due during the month of your birth date.

When Registration is No Longer Required

All sex offenders must register until they get a court order to discontinue registration. Typically, juvenile convictions allow for the petition to court to be filed upon completion of supervision. Adult convictions require registration for either 5, 10, or 20 years, or for life. For more information, visit the State of Colorado Courts page at www.courts.state.co.us
