Find Out About the Tax and Rent Rebate Program

The Tax/Rent Rebate program is a way for the city to assist qualifying low income residents between May and October. There are four main categories as well as income limitations that must be met. The four categories are: SENIOR CITIZEN, age 65 by December 31st of the program year; SINGLE PERSON, between the age of 55 and 65 by December 31st of the program year; DISABLED; or HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD as defined by the IRS.

Each year the income limits are adjusted to match the low income guidelines published by HUD.

This program refunds the Arvada portion of the property tax paid, or 2% of the rent paid. In addition, Arvada also has a $25.00 per person credit on the sales tax that has been paid on food purchases made in Arvada. You must qualify for the program each year to receive this refund. Contact the rebate hotline at 720-898-7114 for more information.
