Volunteer for Day of Service

Day of Service is a national holiday created by Congress to honor the victims and survivors of the 9/11 attack. We launched the City's Day of Service in 2016 in conjunction with the non-profit Neighborhood Rehab Project. 140 volunteers from all over Arvada came together to work on 10 projects including home repair, yard clean up and re-building decks at Colorado Homeless families and making park improvements. Our goal for 2017 is to grow the program to make sure those in our community who are unable to perform home repairs can enjoy a home that is warm, dry and safe. We invite you to bring the whole family or service group for a day of giving back in Arvada. Volunteers will receive lunch and a "I'm A Tool" t-shirt for getting involved.

Date: Saturday, September 16, 2017
Times and locations TBD

Volunteers will be divided into the following groups:

  • Support - Breakfast, lunch prep and clean-up
  • Admin - Shopping or paperwork leading to rehab day
  • Level 1 - Light yard work and clean-up
  • Level 2 - Painting, moving supplies, runner
  • Level 3 - Experience with power tools, basic building
  • Level 4 - Skilled construction, design and execution of projects
  • Licensed contractor in the City of Arvada
