The master plan was developed over an approximately 6 month period. Three neighborhood meetings were held to develop the final master plan document. Meetings were held at the K-8 School on April 6, April 20 and May 18, 2011. In addition, staff and representatives from DHM Design Corporation met with approximately 30 school students to discuss the project and get their ideas and input. The students of K-8 School named the park Wolff Park. Three original design concepts were shown at the first meeting and discussed further at the second meeting. The ideas generated at the meetings were consolidated into a conceptual master plan that was shown at the final meeting on May 18, 2011. The comments of the students, the neighborhood residents and the school district were consolidated into the final master plan which was finalized after the third meeting. Development of the construction drawings and bid documents were completed and the project was bid. The project was awarded to the low bidder, Urban Farmer, Inc., and is currently under construction.
