OUR CONDUCTORS
Danielle Johnson
is conductor of the Concerts Strings and Chamber Orchestra, is sought after as a guest clinician and adjudicator along the Front Range. An active freelance performer, Johnson has served as concertmaster for the Niwot Timberline Symphony and violist in the Steamboat Springs Orchestra. She spends the summer months as Dean of Women and Interdisciplinary Faculty Instructor for the string chamber music program, Rocky Mountain Summer Conservatory.
Johnson received her bachelor of music education from Wheaton CollegeConservatory in Wheaton, Illinois, and her masters in violin performance/pedagogy at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She currently teaches orchestra at Mountain Range High School in the Adams12 District and is an adjunct faculty member for the Boulder Suzuki Strings. Previously, shetaught for Wheaton's pre-college program, the International School ofBangkok in Thailand, and the public schools in Omaha, Nebraska andNorthglenn, Colorado.
Stephanie Texera
Stephanie Texera received a Bachelor of Music Education degree (summa cum laude) from Florida State University and a Master of Music degree in Instrumental Conducting from the University of Colorado at Boulder. During her tenure at CU, she was active in the new music community conducting several premieres for the Pendulum New Music Concert series and CU Wind Ensemble. In the Fall of 2009, she had the honor of conducting “Night Music I” for the “George Crumb at 80 Celebratory Festival” under the guidance of the composer.
Ms. Texera has taught orchestra and band in Colorado and Florida for 12 years. Under her leadership, the ensembles at Summit HS and Westminster HS have consistently received superior ratings at CHSAA Large Group Festival, CBA Regional Band Festival, Mile High Jazz Festival, and UNC/Greeley Jazz Festival. The Summit HS Instrumental Music Program was one of only a few high schools recognized by the Colorado Bandmasters Association as an “Exemplary Band Program.” Believing that travel is an extension of the classroom, her ensembles have performed in California, Tennessee, Hawaii, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. She is currently in her first year as the Director of Instrumental Music at Skyline High School.
Ms. Texera is a member of the Colorado Bandmasters Association, Colorado Music Educators Association, Music Educator’s National Conference, World Association for Symphonic Bands & Ensembles, College Band Director’s National Association, and American School Band Directors Association. She is highly sought after as a guest clinician and conductor throughout Colorado.
