About Media Services

Since 1994, Arvada's award winning KATV Channel 8 has been providing viewers with creative, unique programming that is "All Arvada, All the Time!"

KATV Channel 8 has continued to evolve over the past 16 years. We have become more than just television. We can now be seen on YouTube and Video On Demand (VOD). Our multi faceted and talented staff are storytellers, videographers, photographers, and graphic designers. As we expand our services, we have changed our name to Arvada Media Services, or AMS. KATV Channel 8 is just one component of AMS, along with Flickr, YouTube, and other media. KATV8 programming includes city council and planning commission meeting, shows, political forums, and special features about our community.

Arvada Media Services is a division of the City Manager's Office. We have four full time employees, one part time employee, and several contracted professionals.

ARVADA MEDIA SERVICES MISSION STATEMENT

Arvada Media Services mission is to encourage open communication, dialogue, citizen outreach, and community involvement and participation in the democratic process and the City of Arvada's government for the good of the community. Our goals are to serve as a primary source of education for Arvada residents, provide high quality and compelling programming, and demonstrate excellence in the area of telecommunications.
